Hazardous Waste Disposal
The Port of Vancouver, USA is committed to working with its tenants to protect the environment. Metro
Metals Northwest, Inc. operates Pacific Coast Shredding at the Port of Vancouver, recycling more
than 200,000 metric tons of scrap iron annually, including motor vehicles. Prior to processing, hazardous
waste associated with motor vehicles must be disposed of properly. These hazardous waste chemicals
must never be dumped onto the ground, into storm drains, in the trash, or down the drain. There are
three sites in Clark County where residents can drop off hazardous waste from vehicles, and other
household chemicals, free of charge. Several limited recycling drop-off locations are also available.
