Workshop on `Strengthening California's Consumer Protection Laws'
for California's Green Chemistry Initiative
On Thursday, May 8, the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) will hold a workshop in El Segundo
for the public and other interested stakeholders to discuss how to strengthen California's consumer protection
laws. At the workshop, members of the public and interested stakeholders (e.g. industry representatives,
lobbyists, non-governmental organizations, etc.) will work together to help identify options to strengthen the
state's consumer protection laws. These options will in turn be presented in a report from Cal/EPA Secretary
Linda Adams to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger this summer on the California's Green Chemistry Initiative.
The Green Chemistry Initiative strives to reduce or eliminate the use of toxic chemicals in our products through
smarter design, manufacturing and packaging of products.
