Big Save Scholarship Application
2008-2009
THE "BIG SAVE" SCHOLARSHIP
Amount: $4,000
Established by: The "Big Save" scholarship was established by Sharon Arkin and Rodger Talbott in
memory of George Howard Talbott. Sharon and Rodger share a deep passion for higher education and
believe that it is a vital part of a person's development. The couple has a long history with Cal State
Fullerton through their involvement with various events and the University Advancement, Stewardship &
Events staff. Sharon and Rodger wanted to establish a scholarship not solely based on academic
excellence but rather on hard work and a true need for financial support. They hope to help someone who
without this support would likely not be able to attend college. This is why they call it the "Big Save"
Scholarship.
Open to: This award is open to continuing full-time students, including first-time freshmen. Freshman
