Cornell University has scheduled a Chrysanthemum Field Day for Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at the
Long Island Horticultural Research & Extension Center in Riverhead, NY. During the morning, an
educational program is planned with key speakers on growing chrysanthemums (see program below).
There will be 1.5 DEC credits available for the morning educational program and lunch is included in
the cost.
During the afternoon, guests will be able to view the 181 different cultivars of chrysanthemums from
Yoder Brothers, GroLink, and Ball Chrysanthemums. Visitors can also view the sustainable practice
research using controlled release fertilizers. Representatives from each of the mum companies will be
available to answer questions and discuss their plants. Ice cream will be supplied in the afternoon by
Yoder Brothers.
Pre-registration is required to attend the morning educational program, however there is no need to
register if you just plan to attend the Field Day in the afternoon. The cost for the morning program is
$30, and checks should be made payable to Cornell University. There is no charge to attend the Field
Day in the afternoon.
