CITY OF CORNER BROOK
Effective May 1, 2006, the residential curbside recycling program will become mandatory for all
residents of the City of Corner Brook. In accordance with amendments approved to our Garbage
and Refuse Regulations, residents will be required to dispose of all recyclable paper and
corrugated cardboard products through the blue bag recycling program.
In addition, in accordance with the amended regulation, a household will only be permitted to
dispose of up to four (4) bags of garbage during each weekly collection period. Any additional
bags will be left on the curb. The one exception to this provision will be during the annual spring
clean-up which will continue to operate in accordance with past practice.
Residents who periodically require additional pickup above the four (4) bag limit may do so for a
small premium. Additional bag permits or stickers will be made available through the City and
authorized resellers at a cost of $1.00 each. These stickers, when affixed to additional bags, will
enable residents to dispose of excess garbage during the weekly curbside collection. All money
collected through the purchase of bag stickers will be directed into the maintenance and
expansion of the recycling program.
