Claims on Construction Projects-
Avoidance and Success Seminar
.A Practical approach to understanding claims management
for changes, delays and impact, and loss of anticipated profits.
Friday, September 19, 2008 (Victoria)
Never before have construction schedules been so vulnerable to delay. Never before
have the costs associated with delays been so high. Material price increases, labour
price increases, and missed business opportunities are just some of the real
implications to general and sub trade contractors' bottom line when a project falls
behind schedule. This practical seminar is aimed at educating owners, consultants,
contractors and trades on how to properly handle construction project delay claims.
Topics covered:
How to identify impact and delay costs
How to contractually allocate the risks
Contract administration and avoidance of disputes
Preparing the claim and response
Loss of productivity and acceleration disputes
How to avoid the Courtroom

editor of British Columbia CLE Builders Lien Practice Manual, and an author and frequent
presenter to the Construction Industry on successful contracting strategies and cost effective
dispute resolution.
