3 Q. What other carriers fly to cities where ExpressJet is shutting down its branded
operations?
A. Southwest, Delta, United and Continental are a few of the carriers who serve the
communities ExpressJet served although connections may be required. Contact the
carrier of your choice directly for schedules and pricing.
4 Q. I booked a hotel through the ExpressJet web site. Is my hotel reservation still
valid?
A. Yes. The reservation was made directly with the hotel through the World Wide Travel
Exchange (WWTE) and is not affected by the airline service. If you have questions, you
can contact them via email at travel@travel.wwte1.com or call1-888-205-3315. Kindly
have your itinerary number and account information (i.e. e-mail address) handy when
calling.
If you have any additional questions, please call 1-888-205-3315 or 1-702-939-2526 for
customer support.
5 Q. Will Avis or Budget honor the JetSet discount I received on my rental car, if I keep
my car reservation with them but have to purchase tickets through another airline?
A. Yes - Avis and Budget will honor all discounts/rates on
reservations booked
6Q I won an ExpressJet Airlines ticket voucher through a charity event. Will another
airline honor it?
A. No. Unfortunately, it is not valid with another airline.
7 Q. I have a $25 off coupon for an ExpressJet ticket. Is it redeemable for cash?
A. No. The coupon was only good towards a discount for travel on ExpressJet Airlines.
8 Q. How can I be sure ExpressJet Airlines will still offer my flight before September 2?
A. ExpressJet Airlines wanted to give its customers advance notice about its plans to cease
providing branded commercial service. We know our customers typically like to plan in
advance, so we will continue flying during the busy, summer travel period and cease
operations before travel picks up again for the holidays. To check a flight's status, go to
www.expressjet.com Flight Status.
9 Q. Will I be contacted if my flight is cancelled prior to September 2?
A. ExpressJet does not intend to make any additional schedule changes beyond those
announced for August 23 and September 2. All flight schedules through September 1
are available on expressjet.com. To check a particular flight's status that may be
delayed, go to www.expressjet.com Flight Status.
10 Q: What should I do if I only used the first part of my ExpressJet Airlines ticket and
will now need to complete my trip?
A: Unfortunately, as of September 2, 2008, ExpressJet Airlines will discontinue all
operations and cancel all future flights. If you have purchased travel on ExpressJet that
was to take place on or after September 2, 2008, you may request a refund for the
remainder of your tickets. See Question #1.
11 Q: I was scheduled to travel to an ExpressJet Airline's destination via a connection on
another airline. Is the flight on the other airline still valid?
A: Yes, the reservation on the other carrier should still be valid. However, we recommend
that you contact the point of sale of the original booking to confirm and possibly be
rerouted on another carrier other than ExpressJet to your final destination . See Question
#1.
12 Q. Why can't ExpressJet charge higher fares and continue flying?
A. Typically air travel is treated as a commodity; however, history shows that when prices
get too high people stop traveling completely or they drive. Therefore, if you raise prices,
you lose both business and leisure passengers. In today's fuel crisis, you need full
planes with passengers paying significantly higher fares to cover the fuel expense.
13 Q. Why doesn't ExpressJet follow the other airlines and charge for amenities and
bags and continue service?
A. When we began our airline, we wanted to make traveling a better experience for our
customers. And, we succeeded. We have received a continuous flow of letters
complimenting our service and our people. Charging for food, drinks and baggage would
not generate enough revenue to off-set the losses caused by record breaking fuel prices.
Therefore, we made the hard decision to focus on two of our current business platforms,
Corporate Aviation and flying for other carriers.
14 Q. Is ExpressJet going out of business?
A. No. ExpressJet Holdings suspended its branded commercial flying subsidiary, which
represented less than one-third of its fleet, to better position the company's other
business operations for long-term viability.
15 Q. Is there a chance ExpressJet will begin providing branded operations again?
A. Yes. We will continually evaluate the best opportunities for our aircraft. However,
currently we need to focus on our remaining business platforms, Corporate Aviation and
flying for other carriers.
16 Q: Will ExpressJet continue to operate for Continental Airlines and other carriers?
A: Yes, ExpressJet will continue to be the regional air provider for Continental Airlines
operating as Continental Express.
17 Q: Will ExpressJet airlines continue to operate the Corporate Aviation side of the
business?
A: Absolutely. Recently, there has been a greater demand for charter services and we are at
the best place to provide our remarkable customer service to our clients.
18 Q: How will this affect my company who currently has a charter service with
ExpressJet?
A: Your charter request and itinerary will not be interrupted. If you have any concerns or
questions, please contact us at www.expressjet.com
19 Q: I just signed my company up for the corporate discount for my employees, what
will that mean for us?
A: Thank you for your business and your continued support. These discounts will honored
for all flying through September 1.
