Deborah joined the MCPS-PRS Alliance in 2003 as Legal Services Director becoming an
Executive Director in April 2005.
For many years Deborah was a solicitor and partner in the Intellectual Property
department of Taylor Joynson Garrett (now Taylor Wessing), specialising in music and
entertainment law. In that capacity she represented several high profile writers,
composers and artists, as well as music and book publishers, records companies,
orchestras and a variety of trade associations in these fields. Her particular specialty
was collective licensing and she also acted for several collecting societies in the music,
visual arts, publishing and audio-visual industries.
In 1998 she left private practice and took up the position of Head of Legal Affairs and
Company Secretary at the record companies' collecting societies PPL and VPL and in
2003 she joined the MCPS-PRS Alliance as Legal Services Director becoming an
Executive Director in April 2005.
