STATEMENT FROM JIM KELLER ON ELECTION RESULTS

"I want to thank everyone who supported my campaign for the
U.S. House of Representatives. I would also like to thank
all the candidates from other parties who took a stand for
what they believe by also running in this race. Democracy
only works when people have choices, and despite our
historic problems informing people about those choices, I
believe we have all done our part.

"As Adam Schiff enters his new term in Congress, now a
member of the majority party, it will remain his primary
job to represent all the people of the 29th Congressional
District, including everyone who did not vote for him. I
sincerely hope he will rise to that challenge.

"As my final act as a candidate in the 2006 election, I
would like to implore the state of California to adopt an
Instant Runoff Voting system. The Center for Voting and
Democracy ( http://www.fairvote.org/ ) and Californians for
Electoral Reform ( http://www.cfer.org/ ) have excellent
information available about this exciting new way of
voting. All Californians must be able to vote for the
candidate they want, not against the one they don't want,
and Instant Runoff Voting makes that possible."
