Preface
This bibliography has been prepared to give the public and researchers access to the rich
collection of historical and current resources on Gulf Coast hurricanes held by the NOAA
Libraries. The first edition of the bibliography was produced in August, 2005.

The entries are arranged 1) chronologically by named hurricane, and 2) Topically by:
Climatology, History, Storm Surge, and Other. The bibliography is available on-line at
http://www.noaa.gov/edocs/Gulf_Coast_Hurricanes_Bibliography.pdf.

Use the NOAA Libraries' Catalog (http://www.lib.noaa.gov/uhtbin/webcat/) to locate the NOAA
Libraries and Call Numbers housing these documents. Most of the documents are available
through Interlibrary Loan. Those that are rare or fragile are only available for use in the holding
library.
