       MICROSOFT'S WINDOWS XP MEDIA CENTER EDITION 2005

            New products are designed for adding TV viewing, digital TV reception,

        FM radio reception, and television recording to Windows XP Media Center 2005




HAUPPAUGE, NY ­ October 12, 2004 - Hauppauge Digital, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAUP), a
leading developer and manufacturer of digital video TV and data broadcast receiver products
for personal computers, today announced five new TV receivers for Microsoft Windows XP
Media Center Edition 2005. The new products being introduced are: WinTV-PVR-150MCE,
WinTV-PVR-150MCE (low profile), WinTV-PVR-500MCE, WinTV-PVR-usb2MCE and
WinTV-NOVA-T-MCE.

With PCs running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, consumers get a version of
Windows for the home that offers the full capabilities of a Windows XP PC with exciting new
experiences for music, digital photography, movies, and television.

WINTV-PVR-150MCE and WinTV-PVR-150MCE(low profile)

The WinTV-PVR-150MCE is a PCI board which has a single TV tuner plus FM radio receiver
to allow the watching and recording of one TV channel at a time. Up to two WinTV-PVR-
150MCE's can be installed in a Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 system at a time,
bringing the ability to watch one channel while recording another channel. In addition, the
WinTV-PVR-150MCE has audio/video inputs to connect to set top boxes such as satellite
receivers and cable TV boxes.

The WinTV-PVR-150MCE(low profile) is a single slot version of the WinTV-PVR-150MCE for
low profile chassis. It is hardware and software compatible with the full height WinTV-PVR-
150MCE.

WINTV-PVR-500MCE FOR USE ON WINDOWS XP MEDIA CENTER EDITION 2005

The WinTV-PVR-500MCE is a PCI board which has a dual TV tuners plus a single FM radio
receiver to allow the watching or recording of two TV channels at a time. The WinTV-PVR-
500MCE brings the ability to watch one channel while recording another channel in a single
PCI slot. In addition, the WinTV-PVR-500MCE has two on board A/V connectors for
audio/video inputs to connect to set top boxes such as satellite receivers and cable TV
boxes.

WINTV-PVR-USB2-MCE FOR USE ON WINDOWS XP MEDIA CENTER EDITION 2005

The WinTV-PVR-USB2-MCE is a external USB 2.0 `box' which includes a single TV tuner
plus hardware MPEG encoder. Designed for use in both laptop and desktop computers, the
WinTV-PVR-USB2-MCE can be used as either the only TV tuner in a system running
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, or can be added as a second TV tuner to any
system running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. This would allow the background
recording of one TV channel while another TV channel is being watching the screen.

WINTV-PVR-NOVA-T-MCE FOR USE ON WINDOWS XP MEDIA CENTER EDITION 2005

The WinTV-NOVA-T-MCE is a digital TV receiver for use in areas around the world where
DVB-T is the format used for transmitting digital television. In areas where DVB-T is
transmitted and supported by Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, the WinTV-NOVA-T-
MCE will be able to receive over-the-air digital transmissions and offer similar capabilities as
the analog WinTV-PVR products for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

AVAILABILITY

A Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL)-certified drivers for the WinTV-PVR and
WinTV-NOVA are immediately available directly from Hauppauge. There are WinTV-PVR
versions available for the NTSC television standard in North America, Japan and Korean,
plus PAL versions for all of Europe and Asia.

The WinTV-PVR-150MCE, WinTV-PVR-150MCE(low profile), WinTV-PVR-500 and the
WinTV-PVR-usb2-MCE are in production and available to systems integrators and VARs
building Media Center PCs through Ingram Micro and D&H Distributing. The WinTV-NOVA-
T-MCE is available in Europe, Taiwan and Australia through Hauppauge's distributors in
those areas.
