How Long Would Your State Run With ANWR Oil?
Based on mean United States Geological Survey (USGS) estimates of oil potential in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife
Refuge (ANWR) (10.4 billion barrels*) and petroleum consumption for each state using statistics provided by the Energy
Information Agency (EIA), the U.S. Department of the Interior calculated the number of years that ANWR oil would power
each state.
