Representative Strachota Statement on the Appointment of
Richard Leinenkugel as Secretary of the Department of Commerce
Madison... In response to Governor Doyle's appointment of Richard Leinenkugel as the
new Secretary of the Department of Commerce, Representative Pat Strachota (R-West
Bend), chairwoman of the Assembly Jobs and the Economy Committee, released the
following statement:
"For generations, the Leinenkugel family has run a company that is part of the backbone
of Wisconsin's manufacturing economy. Their family business is exactly the kind of
business we need more of in Wisconsin: long-term, exemplary corporate citizens in their
local community and state that provide the kind of jobs that allow Wisconsin families to
stay here and prosper.
"I look forward to working with Secretary Leinenkugel and Governor Doyle on a bi-
partisan, pro-business, pro-investment agenda that is vital to a robust economic future for
our state. Together, we need to focus our efforts on improving our business climate,
creating more jobs for hardworking Wisconsin citizens and tapping Wisconsin's full
economic potential."
