TRANSFER. If you are transferring an equivalent course to COMM 101, 201, 202, 203, or 233, please submit documentation of this (e.g., transcript, grade report) to
the Department of Communications, CP-400, PRIOR to enrollment.
"C" REQUIREMENT. Communications majors must earn an overall GPA of "C" (2.00) or better in the major. Also, students must earn a "C" or better in all major
classes that are prerequisites for other classes. Additionally, students must earn a "C" or better in their upper-division writing (UDW) course.
DEGREE . The B.A. in Communications requires 120 units: 80 outside COMM + 36 in COMM + 4 optional. All Communications majors must take at least 80 units
outside of COMM. Of the 80, at least 65 must be Liberal Arts & Sciences. Also, aacross all courses, at least 40 units must be upper division (300-&400-level).
GRAD CHECK. (1) Apply at A&R, LH-114, when you reach senior standing--90 units. (2) Take grad check to College of Comm Advising Center, CP-425. (3) Take
form, with student file, to concentration advisor. (4) Return form to Grad Unit, LH-114.
*COMM 333, 410, 422 and 426 may count only ONCE, either in the core or as a concentration elective.
                                               COLLATERAL REQUIREMENT
To enhance learning, all Communications majors are required to take at least 12 units (4 courses) of
supplementary, upper division courses in other departments. You may meet this requirement in ONE of the
      Collateral courses. You may take a minimum of 4 classes (12 units) from the list below of approved collaterals
      including AT LEAST THREE COURSES FROM THE TOP SECTION of the list. You may substitute other courses with
      the same prefixes with written approval from an advisor. 100 and 200 level prerequisites are often waived for COMM
      Minor or double major. A minor or double major in any OTHER department meets the collateral requirement, if it
      includes at least 12 units of UPPER DIVISION coursework. Consult the catalog for minors and majors in other
      departments. Note: a minor or second major WITHIN Communications does NOT meet the collateral requirement.
      Teaching credential. Any 12 units of UPPER DIVISION coursework taken as prerequisites or in preparation for a
