Tips for completing the Four Semester Plan
· Choose a major and visit its website to download the requirements. (http://www.uga.umd.edu/
admissions/academics/majors.asp).
· Download the Four Year Academic Plan for that major and identify which major courses still need
to be completed (http://www.4yearplans.umd.edu).
· Review your transcripts and advising records to identify remaining CORE requirements
· Use Degree Navigator to (http://www.testudo.umd.edu/dnentry.html) identify what requirements
you have let to complete (CORE and Major) for your intended major.
· Decide which CORE & Major classes to take over the next 4 semesters (including the current one)
and completely fill out the form.
· Make sure prerequisites are completed in a timely manner
· Remember to include the gateway requirements for Limited Enrollment Programs
· Identify which requirement each course satisfies (Major/CORE/Elective) and how many
credits they are worth
· Each semester should include at least 12 credits for full time status (However, we recom-
mend at least 14 to 16 credits to graduate in a timely manner)
