                            Art Hits the Asphalt!
               ArtCar Cruise and Drive-in Movie--July 19, 2008
WHAT: Art hits the asphalt this Saturday, July 19, 6pm-10:30pm with the ArtCar Cruise and Drive-in
Movie! Ride your bike and bring a picnic and head down to Lake of the Isles to watch the cars cruise and the
bicyclists peddle around the lake at from 6pm-8pm. Top off the night by heading back to Intermedia Arts
parking lot with your lawn chairs to check out the ArtCars up close, create a community ArtVan with artist
Damon Cuccia, and join the artists for popcorn and beverages while watching a special screening of Harrod
Blank's Wild Wheels.

Wild Wheels is filmmaker Harrod Blank's comic and revealing exploration of ArtCars, personally customized
automobiles that reflect the individualistic spirit of their drivers. Traveling across the country in his own wildly
decorated VW bug, Blank discovers a memorable cast of real-life characters who are obsessed with transforming
their cars into mobile works of art.

Workshop: Make Your Own ArtCar!
Thursday, July 17, 5pm-7pm at Intermedia Arts (Aldrich Lot)
Free and open to the public, hosted by Tom Edwards and the Leather Van
Join ArtCar artist Tom Edwards for an ArtCar making workshop. Bring your vehicles and materials and create
alongside Tom and other seasoned artists. Watch demos on a new Leather Van and get tips from the pros!

Exhibition: Gallery on Wheels!
Saturday, July 19th, 2008, 10am-1pm: ArtCar Exhibition at Midtown Farmer's Market. Free and open to the
public. Check out the gallery of ArtCars while enjoying fresh flavors from local farmers!

Family Event: 3-D ArtCar Slide Show!
Friday, August 22, 5pm-8pm: Join ArtCars at Midtown Global Market! Enjoy great food from local vendors,
check out the ArtCars and celebrate the Summer of ArtCar with your family with coloring activities for children and
a special 3D ArtCar slide show!

Liberty Parade!
Sunday, August 31, 1pm: ArtCars bid farewell to the summer and celebrate freedom with the Liberty Parade
featuring ArtCars, as part of Intermedia Arts' UnConvention program. ArtCars, floats, and other wheeled
contraptions take over downtown Minneapolis' Nicollet Avenue and head to Loring Park for an afternoon of
entertainment.
