Miasolé Adds Key Talent to Executive Team
Hires Dr. David Smith as Vice President
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Miasolé, a leader in the development of thin film solar
products, announced today the appointment of Dr. David Smith to the role of Vice
President.
Dr. Smith, a fourteen year veteran of the Semiconductor Capital equipment industry, was
most recently with Novellus Systems as the Senior VP of Corporate R&D.
"We look forward to the addition of Dr. Smith," stated Joe Laia, CEO of Miasolé. "His
energy, focus and history of execution in the semiconductor equipment arena will enable
Miasolé to continue to execute on its plan to become a premier manufacturer of solar
products."
Prior to joining Miasolé, Dr. Smith was Vice President and General Manager at
Novellus' Physical Vapor Deposition, Plasma Enhanced CVD and Electroplating
Business Units.
Dr. Smith additionally spent 8 years in technical and business leadership roles at Applied
Materials and at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Dr. Smith holds a Ph. D. in Chemistry from Cal Tech as well as a B.S. in Chemistry from
the University of California, Berkeley.
