Required Application Materials

The following materials must be included in your application packet. Incomplete applications will not
be reviewed. Please do not include any materials aside from those requested below. Materials sent
electronically will not be reviewed. Application materials will not be returned.

To ensure your application is complete, use the following checklist:

       A completed application form (this document)

       A letter of intent explaining how a residency at Minnesota Center for Book Arts (MCBA)
       will benefit your artistic development and what you can offer MCBA (no more than one
       page)

       A current resume with exhibition record (no more than 2 pages)

       An artist statement articulating themes in your work, creative methods, and directions
       proposed for future endeavors (no more than one page)

       A detailed project description for work to be performed during the residency, including a
       project timeline with specific dates. Residencies may range from two weeks to four months
       in duration (no more than 2 pages)

       No more than 10 digital images of past work on CD. Images should be in a jpeg format with
       a resolution of least 72 dpi

       A listing of images presented on the CD, including titles, dimensions, mediums, and dates

       A budget outlining how stipend dollars will be used to complete the proposed project. Up to
       $1000 is available per residency cycle (no more than one page)

Application and Residency Timelines

Indicate the residency period to which this application applies:

       Residency Period 4/1 ­ 7/31
       Applications with support materials must be postmarked no later than 2/1
       Residencies will be announced by 2/15

       Residency Period 8/1 ­ 11/31
       Applications with support materials must be postmarked no later than 6/1
       Residencies will be announced by 6/15

       Residency Period 12/1 ­ 3/31
       Applications with support materials must be postmarked no later than 10/1
       Residencies will be announced by 10/15
