R&D MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE-2008
`Managing the new genre R&D: Indian Perspective'
6-7 December, 2008
India Habitat Centre
New Delhi
The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) has been organizing R&D Management Conference since
1999. The Conference has emerged as a unique platform for exchange of ideas, views, experience and
knowledge on diverse issues relating to R&D management amongst academicians, scientists, technocrats, senior
corporate /managers, policy makers and the like.
In the changing dynamics of R&D in India- influenced by external networks, outsourcing and off shoring, the R& D
scenario has greatly altered. India is witnessing a phenomenal growth in R&D, specially in the non-government
sector. The non-government sector has overtaken the government sector in terms of resources deployed and is
being recognized globally. Strategic management of R&D in the new ethos is therefore at the centre stage of
corporate and government R&D. Sharing and learning from the experiences on managing the new genre of R&D
would be of great value to those in the government and non-government sectors and also to the policy makers.
The theme of this year's conference is `Managing the new genre R&D: Indian Perspective'. The conference
will highlight the issues and strategies to gain advantage of changing dynamics of R&D in India.
