Nominators must note that the number of Scholarships for annual award is limited and that the strictest standards
of selection will be enforced. In assessing applicants for nomination, nominators will be expected to have regard
to the awards obtainable for postgraduate study or research from other bodies.
To be lodged by the Nominator with the Secretary not later than 15th March. The award will be
intimated at the beginning of July which will be awarded every fourth year and will date from 1st October
unless expressly stated otherwise.

6. Programme of research during tenure of Scholarship. Please supply a concise title for the Trust records, as
well as whatever elaboration may be necessary to explain the project (about 500 words with appendices if
required). It is in your interests that the elaboration is as full as possible and states clearly the context and
aims of the study as well as the methodology to be employed, so that the Trust's Advisors can form a proper
view of the project.

7. The names and addresses of two academic referees, other than the Nominator, to whom the Executive
Committee may refer as to the qualifications of the Nominee.
8. Which Scottish Institution, and under whose supervision, is the proposed research is to be conducted.
9. Will you be undertaking the proposed research full-time for three years (See Regulation 7)?

As the Scholarships are primarily intended for immediate post-graduate research, applications are necessarily made before the results of
the Final examinations are known. It is of great assistance to the Selection Committee if the Nominators advise the Trust, immediately
after results are known, of the class of Honours attained, and of any outstanding merit which may have been demonstrated.
