                                Outstanding Paper Award

                                      $10,000 AWARD*

The Convergence Transportation Electronics Association (CTEA) announces an award to recognize
the author or authors who write the most outstanding paper on the subject of transportation
                                      ®
electronics for the biennial Convergence conference. This award has been created to recognize
outstanding contributions to the field of transportation electronics.

The Convergence Transportation Electronics Association in June 1992 developed the
Convergence Outstanding Paper Award (renamed the Trevor O. Jones Outstanding
Paper Award in October 2000). An endowment established in 1993 by Siemens Automotive,
Ford Motor Company and ITT Automotive supports the award in perpetuity.

This Award will recognize papers that cover aspects of passenger car, truck, and commercial
vehicle electronics systems. This award recognizes Trevor O. Jones, Founder of Convergence® as
well as his contributions to the field of transportation electronics.

The Trevor O. Jones Outstanding Paper Award consists of a medal, certificate and cash and
will be presented at the Convergence Conference Banquet on October 22, 2008 in recognition of
the most outstanding paper prepared and presented at the 2008 Conference.

                                   Trevor O. Jones
                            Outstanding Paper Award Rules

   1. The Trevor O. Jones Outstanding Paper Award, consisting of a medal,
certificate, and cash will be awarded to the author or authors of the most
outstanding paper relating to transportation electronics and will be presented at
      the Closing Banquet during conference.

   2. Only one Trevor O. Jones Outstanding Paper Award will be given at each
Conference, except that in the event the selection process is unable to distinguish
between the myriad of multiple papers, multiple awards may be made. (There will
be no second or third place awards.)

   3. Papers will be judged primarily for their value as NEW contributions to the existing
knowledge base of transportation electronics. Judgment shall be based upon the
value of the paper itself as an original contribution, not upon the value of some
development or invention already known which the paper may describe.

   4. In selecting the Trevor O. Jones Outstanding Paper Award winner, the
Convergence Transportation Electronics Association (CTEA) Board of Directors
shall make every effort to ascertain that the material or development forming the
subject matter of the paper is based on personal work. Authors merely reporting
on the work of others shall not be considered for the Award.

   5. Members of the CTEA Board of Directors, the Convergence Award Readers
Chairperson and Readers shall not be eligible for the Award.

   6. The CTEA Board of Directors may amend these rules at any time in harmony with
the general intent and purpose of the CTEA.

                            DEADLINES & PAST WINNERS

The Trevor O. Jones Outstanding Paper Award will recognize a paper given at the October 20-
22, 2008 Convergence Conference; therefore, it is imperative that authors respect and meet the
timing requirements of the Convergence Conference Technical chairperson. In order to be eligible
for this award, completed papers must be available per the technical timeline requirements. As the
review process will require the appointment of subject matter experts in the particular field of each
of the papers, a complete and accurate paper must be available for the CTEA Technical Chairman
and his Readers Chairperson and Readers.

The following dates will be followed for the review process. Paper abstracts are due November 5,
2007; initial draft manuscripts are due March 3, 2008 and final papers are due no later than
August 15, 2008. This availability is absolutely imperative to ensure that each of the technical
papers benefits from the most careful and competent review procedure. As we expect these papers
to be reflective of the merging technology trends in automotive electronics, the timeliness of
submission to allow a careful and considerate review process cannot be over-emphasized. The
Technical Council will review the papers and recommend one paper for submission for the Award.

The first award made was in 1994.
