CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS
The ninth IFIP World Conference on Computers in Education (WCCE 2009) is an IFIP
event hosted by the Computer Society of Brazil: SBC (Sociedade Brasileira de
Computação), and organized by UFRGS (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do
Sul, UFSC Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, and IDESTI (Instituto de
Capacitação, Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Institucional em Gestão Social de
Tecnologia de Informação). It is the first WCCE to be held in South America
without any doubt.
Education and Technology for a Better World is the main theme for WCCE 2009.
The conference will highlight and explore different perspectives of this theme,
covering all levels of formal education as well as informal learning and societal
aspects of education.
The conference is open to everyone involved education and training. Additionally
players from technological, societal, business and political fields outside education
are invited to make relevant contributions within the theme: Education and
Technology for a Better World.

information on state-of- the- art and future learning environments. We want you to
explore and make contact with other players to enrich your network for years to

We ask for contributions to a range of activities, not only traditional papers and

SUBMITTING CONTRIBUTIONS:
All proposed contributions must be submitted in English and in an electronic format
adjustable to templates of the conference found at

All accepted contributions will be published in a pre-conference book with abstract
only. A selection of papers will be published in the Education and Information
Technology (EAIT) journal, in IFIP digital library or a post conference book.
Submission must contain:

· Theme from potential themes & topics list
· Title
· Author (s) name, affiliation, address, country

· Keywords (up to five) from WCCE keyword list shown on the website
· An abstract of 300 words summarizing the content of your contribution

Paper, workshop; provide a full text that include an abstract with a clear
reflection of main points that will be addressed. (Indicate if your paper can
generate a panel.)
Demonstration; provide an outline of the focus and overall purpose, a brief
description of the programme, experiment, or web site, and list the major steps
(agenda) planned for the session.
Poster; provide a clear presentation of the main theme on paper and/or in a digital
format for presentation in conference proceedings and at the conference.
Panel: includes several short presentations/expert inputs leading to a panel
discussion
Interactive collaborative session: Describe what kind of session that is planned
and how it will be run.
