"They don't deserve a player like me."
              -- Manny Aristides Ramirez Onelcida

The Sox owners, management, and (reportedly) nearly all of their core players agreed with
Manny on this one. So, with about three minutes remaining before the trading deadline, the
Sox sent Manny packing to the Dodgers in a three-way trade that brought back Jason Bay
from the Pittsburgh Pirates. So that there was no mistaking that the Sox wanted Manny gone,
Theo threw in the remainder of Manny's 2008 salary ($7MM), a $1 million moving
allowance, Craig ("great stuff," always 3-and-0) Hansen, Brandon Moss, and four Monster
Seats for the September 27th game against the Yankees.

The Jason Bay era began with the new LF playing a starring role in all three games of a
weekend sweep against the A's. Not surprisingly, Manny Ramirez's weekend was also a hit,
with two HRs, a four-hit game, and a Manny-being-Manny proclamation that he wanted to
retire to Los Angeles, as it seems his outfield neighbor, Andruw Jones (.161, 2 HRs, $18
million per), already has done.

The Yankees didn't stand pat either, acquiring Xavier Nady, Damaso Marte, and the catcher
formerly known as Pudge Rodriquez, all for sobbing reliever Kyle Farnsworth and a few
Giambi bobbleheads. And who can forget A-Rod's two-week run in the New York tabloids
that detailed his infatuations with Madonna, Kabbalah, and chatty exotic dancers?

Much to discuss. You'll get a chance to see the BLOHARDS do what they do best - -
